João Pereira Guimarães has more than 60 years of history and is, from its early days, an expert in warp knittings. Nowadays it only uses polyester and polyamide in its production.
Knowing the caractheristics of warp knitting – which includes being unyielding and having great resistance, even though it doesn’t lose its elasticity – there are several areas where it can be applied. From fashion, including sports, underwear and linings, to technical products such as protection garment, velcro and digital printing fabrics.
Nets with diferente forms and sizes are the strong point of the company, which also produces piquet knittings, “german point”, charmeuse, fantasy, velvet and velcro.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, it has been producing mesh for masks for social use.
“Being in charge of a company with more than 60 years of history is a challenge and, at the same time, an honor. João Pereira Guimarães is now going through some changes, with the objective of modernizing itself and reasuring its position in the textile market – all of this without forgetting it’s history, valuing all the know-how aquired in the past decades and continuing to work on the quality of our products.”
