Having sustainability as its motto, the Between Paralels Association, which brings together sustainable brands from various textile sectors, believes that the digital edition of MODTISSIMO will “create a lot of buzz between professionals and the public”.
Popular wisdom says that there is no second chance to make a first good impression, and, if so, Between Paralels debuted in full force in the last edition of MODTISSIMO, which took place in September at Alfândega do Porto.
“At the last MODTISSIMO we officially presented our association, whose main goal is to support and promote sustainable brands and artists, and our expectations were largely exceeded. We had incredible feedback”, recalls Marita Ferro, the creator of the Marita Moreno brand, and now also chairman of Between Parallels.
Without hiding the desire to return to physical trade shows, it is with optimism that Marita Ferro awaits the next edition of the Portuguese textile salon, which will be taking place online between March 10th and 12th. “We know that in this sector touch is very important, but we also know that this edition of MODTISSMO will benefit from a strong communication campaign, which will create a lot of buzz between professionals and the public”, continues the director.
In addition to the brands presented in the last edition, when Between Paralels had 16 associates, in this digital edition of the Portuguese textile show another eight sustainable projects will participate, among them brands such as Noogmi (shoes developed from burel and cork), Graça (handmade knits) and the Golden Bird (ceramics).
“We are working to create a unity in this digital format, for example, through a common link. It is something that we are working with the MODTISSIMO team because, although the format is different, the message and the mission are the same. We have to realize that nowadays the sectors are no longer watertight: textile products can be used in jewelry, for example”, stands Marita Ferro.
Besides MODTISSIMO, the association is planning to carry out joint international actions. “Our hope is that in June we will be able to physically participate in Neonyt, in Frankfurt”, concludes the director of the Between Paralels Association.
