IOAKIMIDIS BRINGS RECYCLED FABRICS TO MODTISSIMO

Scheduled for September 23rd and 24th, at Alfândega do Porto, MODTISSIMO has awakened an intense interest and Ioakmidis, one of the largest Greek fabrics companies, is one of the participants of the event’s 56th edition, which is expected to be “a meeting point” for the textile industry. “MODTISSIMO is a very important tool for us”, explains Hernâni Martins, representative of the Greek fabric company in Portugal.

For the head of Ioakimidis, MODTISSIMO “is the place where we showcase our offer near the Portuguese market, and where we gather customers, especially those from Lisbon brands who visit us regularly”. To Alfândega do Porto, which represents Ioakimidis’ ninth participation in the Portuguese trade show, the company brings around 500 fabric references from the latest Autumn-Winter and Spring-Summer collections, underlining the company’s recycled fabrics. “This year we reinforced our recycled line and we are going to present a new product made from bamboo cane”, reveals Hernâni Martins.

“We are a good partner for Portuguese brands due to the variety of products we present, our response speed and also for the fact that we do not require minimums on orders placed”, explains the Ioakmidis representative in Portugal.

Regarding the impact of the pandemic on the textile sector, Hernâni Martins fully trusts the measures assured by the MODTISSIMO organization. “For our company, health safety is a priority. We took action internally from the first hour, and we are sure that the MODTISSIMO organization will take on all necessary measures. We admire the responsible way in which they have managed this issue ”, he concludes.

The 56th edition of the oldest textile salon in the Iberian Peninsula and the only one in Portugal dedicated to the textile and clothing industry promises to mark a before and after the pandemic. Under the theme “linked”, this edition of MODTISSIMO will be a landmark of the return to the “new normal”.
