2002 was not only a year for new bets; it was also a year in which MODTISSIMO commemorated an important date, 10 years of existence. In September 2002, during the 20th edition of MODTISSIMO, the date was marked with a dinner party, which took place at Via Rápida, in Porto.
As Manuel Serrão says, “ten years of developed work and acquired experience allow us to define a strategy with new future challenges”. And, in truth “throughout these 20 editions, the show has always adapted itself to reality, never attempting to exceed it”.
All exhibitors who shared and helped make the Show what it is today were paid homage to. Deveux (Vestimport and Textilina), Sprintex (Caianos) were pointed out at the awards ceremony, as the only absolute exhibitors (present in all 20 editions). The most loyal exhibitors received an original work from final year students from the Escola Superior de Belas Artes do Porto. From the National Manufacturers these companies were paid homage to: Adalberto Estampados, Albano Morgado, Arco Têxteis, Beiralã, Fareleiros, Fino’s, Gierling Velpor, Idepa, M. Carmona, Paulo de Oliveira, Penteadora, Pereirinho, Riopele, Sampaio Ferreira, Somelos, Têxtil Mirrado. From the Portuguese Garment Makers’ Club come such names as: Belmiro Martins, Confecções Nobreza, Malhacila, Bercel, Gouveia & Campos, Lindo Corte, Expotime / Bernartex among others.
